Offering seating for five, storage space, cargo capability and of course the rarity factor, for many VW bus/van enthusiasts, a double cab pickup is one of the most desirable models. For T3 (Vanagon based) models the ultimate version was the Syncro which offered the safety and stability of AWD as well as off road capability - especially when equipped like this truck with front and rear locking differentials. This truck has the the "3 knob" Syncro systems with a center decoupler. VW ended exportation of Vanagons to the US after the 1991 model year but still offered them in Europe until 1992. T3 trucks were never available at VW dealerships here in the US. This truck was privately imported from Finland a few years ago. It's definitely a rare example being the final year model, a double cab, 3 knob Synrco with a gasoline 2.1L engine. In addition to being cool for what it is, this truck "has a lot going on." It is loaded with added features, modifications and upgrades such as, but not limited to: Roof rack, high lift jack, ramps, brush bar, additional lighting, winch, wide mirrors, trailer hitch, bed cover, 6 Audi aluminum 16" wheels with Yokohama Geolander tires, air conditioning, modern sound system with Bluetooth and Apple Car Play, reverse camera, dual battery system, dash console, GPS speedometer and more! Notable mechanical upgrades include rear disc brake conversion, GoWesty fuel injection, Magnaflow exhaust and Koni shocks to name just a few. Included but not installed are a Webasto gas heater, engine heater, more lights, the original speedometer and other items taken off or yet to be installed. The engine is reported to be a low mileage rebuilt 2.1L. It runs great and overall the truck drives well. Our preparation for sale included an oil change, obtaining the 6th tire, fitting some of the accessories, getting all the lights working, cleanup and just making sure the truck was ready to drive. The next owner is getting the value from the time and funds spent on this truck by the current owner. This vehicle has some rust, dents, textured paint and interior wear, so it's far from perfect. But it's absolutely usable now and only as a big of a project as you want it to be. This VW has a clean NC title. It is exempt from inspection and odometer reporting. a Carfax report is not available due to being a European model.
