Seller's Notes

This 1966 Ford Mustang is a wonderful coupe that is a blast to drive and sports fantastic options! The Ford Mustang made its debut in the spring of 1964 and immediately took the American car market by storm. Its sporty styling, affordable price, and youthful appeal created an entirely new segment-the pony car-and sales skyrocketed from the start. By 1966, Ford was eager to keep the winning formula intact, making only subtle refinements to the wildly successful Mustang lineup. In fact, advertising for the 1966 Ford Mustang proudly declared, Relax Mustang lovers. Your favorite car hasn't changed much in 1966. The most noticeable design update for the 1966 Mustang Coupe was the revised grille, which moved away from the 1965 honeycomb pattern to feature a horizontal bar with the iconic running Mustang emblem floating at its center. This gave the car a fresh, more modern look while retaining the character that had made it so popular. Inside, the 1966 model also received a redesigned five-dial instrument cluster, lending the cockpit a sportier, race-inspired feel. These modest but effective styling changes helped the Mustang continue its unprecedented success, with more than 1.25 million examples on the road by the end of 1966. Today, the 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe remains one of the most iconic and collectible classic cars, celebrated for its timeless design, cultural impact, and enduring place in American automotive history. This particular example comes to us from a wonderful enthusiast collector who took wonderful care of this car while under his care. Under the hood on this Mustang is 200 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder engine fed by a single barrel carburetor that together were said to have produced 120 horsepower when new. The 200 Straight 6 is backed by a 3 speed manual transmission that makes this little Ford coupe a really fun car to take on a cruise. This 1966 Ford Mustang is loaded up with all of the best options! Optional power steering is a wonderful addition to this coupe since it makes squeezing in and out of a tight parking space at the local car show a total breeze. Further aiding with parking efforts is the addition of a driver's side chrome outside mirror so that you can get a better look what is along side of this beautiful car. Riding on a set of whitewall radial tires with each wheel accented with a shiny deluxe wheel cover, this '66 Mustang has a great look and even better ride. This Mustang's body is correctly refinished in probably the best color for a first generation Mustang, that being, Candy Apple Red, just how it came off the Dearborn assembly line back in 1966. The interior of this 1966 Ford Mustang is absolutely gorgeous! The front bucket seats as well as the rear seat have also been correctly redone in Parchment colored upholstery that harkens back to the car's original configuration. The matching parchment upholstered door panels, parchment colored steering wheel, carpeting, and floor mats all appear to have been replaced during the car's extensive refurbishment and all retain a nice stock appearance. The interior also features several superb upgrades! You'll be able to stay cool even on the hottest summer days since this Mustang comes equipped with modern air conditioning. Additionally, the front bucket seats are separated by an upgraded center console that provides additional interior storage as well as a couple of cupholders which are at a premium in a car of this vintage. The entertainment system has also been significantly upgraded with the addition of an AM/FM/Cassette unit as well as upgraded rear speakers so that you can listen to all of your tunes while cruising down the road. Instrumentation remains in the stock layout and includes a 140 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, amp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge. Whether you're buying your very first classic collector car or you're a seasoned collector just looking for a fun little car to cruise around in on a nice wee
