This 1965 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe is Live on Bring a Trailer! Series I features include covered headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, taillights mounted above the wraparound chrome bumpers, and triple windshield wipers. Additional equipment includes a driver-side mirror, a side-hinged rear hatch, and dual exhaust outlets. The windshield washers are inoperative. The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and were mounted with 205/65 Yokohama Avid Ascend tires in 2020. The car is equipped with power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear rotors. The rear brake cylinders and steering rack mounts were recently replaced. The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a heater, and an aftermarket radio. The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles. The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory-rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt by Consolidated Auto in 2013, and work at that time included rebuilding the triple SU carburetors and replacing ignition components, seals, hoses, and engine mounts. An aluminum radiator and an electric fan have been installed. The cylinder head stamping, 7E5790-9, matches the number listed on the accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
