The E24 6-Series, produced from 1976 to 1989, represented BMW's flagship grand tourer. Its sleek, shark-nosed design became iconic of BMW's styling. While European markets enjoyed a range of inline-six engines, U.S. models were limited to larger displacement options like the 633CSi and later 635CSi. The crown jewel of the lineup, the M635CSi (badged as the M6 in North America and Japan), arrived in 1983 for Europe but didn't reach U.S. shores until 1987. The U.S. version retained the powerful M88/3 engine, making it one of the few M cars of its era to maintain performance parity with its European counterpart. This 1987 BMW M6 resided in California until 2013 and is showing just 87,012 miles. This car is finished in a black exterior with a grey leather interior. The power for this BMW is provided by a smooth running 3.5-liter inline-six motor mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The black exterior shows very well with evidence of a repaint in its original color. The grey leather interior is in particularly good condition with little evidence of wear. The stock interior has been upgraded with a Kenwood Bluetooth compatible stereo. Benefitting from being a California car for several years, the body and underside of this M6 is void of any corrosion and remarkably clean for a 38-year-old vehicle. This M6 has been updated with gloss black basket weave wheels with a polished lip wrapped with 2024 and 2025 Michelin Pilot Sport high speed rated tires. Considered as a soft suspension, the problematic self-leveling rear suspension has been replaced with conventional shocks providing stability and reliability. Looking for an exhilarating European sport sedan experience, then a BMW M6 is the answer. If you would like to learn more about this vehicle, please contact us at Legendary Motors LLC.
