The Super Beetle was the final edition offered in the US market. The 1303 Series was larger and wider than its predecessors and offered much improved power, handling and braking.
This restored 1979 Super Beetle is in excellent overall condition. Runs and drives very well. It's body was restored around 2016 and painted Aquatic Blue Metallic. The interior is tan vinyl and a fresh canvas soft top with matching boot cover is fitted. An all new engine was sourced and assembled in 2024 and the 4-speed transaxle was rebuilt before fitting it and the new motor in the chassis.
Sourced from AA-GEX Performance, the replacement 1,776cc air-cooled flat-four features an AutoLinea aluminum case, hydraulic lifters, a single EMPI Progressive 32/36F downdraft carburetor, a Pertronix Flame Thrower ignition coil and distributor, EMPI pressure reducing crankcase breather a polished fan shroud, alternator pulley, and cooling tins.
The suspension, steering and brakes were also refreshed. It's rolling on staggered 15" steel wheels with dog dish hub caps. Everything is in working order with the exception of the heater which was removed when the new engine was fitted. A great sounding stereo is installed.
With only 2000 miles added since the restoration was completed. this vintage Bug is good to go.
Located in Rowlett, Texas it is offered for sale as is where is with a clean Texas title.
