134,802 miles
1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer The Chevrolet K5 Blazer dates all the way back to the late 1960s, but it's the 1973-1991 square body models that most people think of when picturing this classic SUV. Featuring a short wheelbase, rectangular styling and the ability to pop the top for some fun in the sun, the Blazer provided decent off road chops and respectable practicality for towing and hauling, as it shared its bones with Chevy's same era full size pickup. Thx to insidehook.com, December 2021  For consignment, a 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer with a title verified 134,802 actual miles. But it looks a lot fresher than the miles indicate and our consignor says there's about 2,500 miles on the 350 crate motor under the hood. Clean inside and out, with both a hardtop and soft top, this K5 is likely to have a short stay here at the mall.  Exterior Two stage Hugger Orange is a can't miss color, here augmented by the removable white top and black rocker stripe providing all the 70's charm that makes these vintage utility vehicles hot sellers. This one is lifted on 18-inch wheels with 33-inch LT rated all terrain tires and between them, power running boards that tuck into the rocker panel until the door opens, a very nice upgrade. The eggcrate grille spans the width between single, round headlights over a chrome bumper with embedded marker lights. Proper emblems are in place but we note a few drilled holes on each side of the tailgate where a trim piece may have been. Also out back, bevel cut chrome exhaust tips make a dramatic appearance and flank a hitch receiver. A single area of rust bubbles on the lower panel makes up the entire list of noteworthy imperfections. Interior Orange paint frames the black plastic door cards with western style Sheridan scroll design and both are in great condition. The doors lead us to black vinyl buckets also in nice shape with a small bench seat in back of the same color and material. A clean 3 spoke steering wheel leads to the traditional black plastic faceplate of the instrument cluster, all surrounded by more orange and a black dash pad. In the center, we have a JVC AM/FM/CD with AUX, USB, and Bluetooth and A/C panel, then a big orange glove box door. Black loop carpet covers the floor where the range selector resides and a center console has been added for storage and holding cups. Gray cloth tops the fiberglass roof and a black roll bar run parallel with it in this clean interior. Drivetrain Clean conditions are also found in the bay where a 350ci crate V8 with a Holley 4-barrel lives and headers are connected to the side. It's mated to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that runs through 3.73 gears in the 12 bolt axle in back and the Dana 44 in front, when required. Undercarriage General patina and occasional surface rust on heavy metal components, but amazingly clean for rig with miles driven. The leaf springs front and rear are accompanied by a 2 lift while dual exhaust include FlowMaster mufflers. Power brakes are split between disc in front and drums in the back. Drive-Ability Who doesn't love a lifted K5 and this two tone version rolls out the red carpet for you when you open the door. No groin pulls here, we're stepping up to the high cab with ease! The trusty 350 comes to life with a smooth idle and pleasing exhaust note and we roll this orange onto the test loop. Good power, straight tracking, and no rattles, a solid build that delivers the goods! We note the horn and reverse lights are not working but all other functions on this vintage SUV are operational. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. If we had to rate popularity and desirability, the K5 might beat out the full sized Broncos by a hair. They are certainly more uncommon, especially clean versions like this one. Both models were used and put away wet
