Seller's Notes

** This is GMC's "Blue Chip" or Second Series pick-up, not an Apache, but didn't have that option to choose. **

Lots of information below for serious buyers of a top-notch, show quality classic truck. Or, just call and we can go over all your questions. 913-461-4890.

This 110% rust-free 1955 GMC short bed step side pick up is nice, and I mean REALLY nice. It has only been in 2 car shows in the 4-5 years we've owned it, and it's won FOUR awards, the most recent being a "Best of Show" award at a local car show a few weeks ago. It is finished in an absolutely stunning shade of Chrysler "Prowler Orange" metallic, with contrasting colors of metallic brown and cream. The quality of the body, paint, panel fit, and details is extraordinary, reflecting the talents and time invested by its builder. You'll be hard-pressed to find another classic short bed truck with nicer body and paint.

The engine bay is finished to the same exacting details and quality as the truck's exterior. The pics speak for themselves, but seeing it in person really brings it home. The other car show this truck was in won "Best Engine Bay" as well as a Top 5 overall pick. As with any comprehensive restoration with custom touches, you might quibble with some of the builder's choices, but not the quality with which they were executed. It is phenomenal.

The truck bed, again, shows an obsessive amount of attention to detail in making it look as good as the exterior. From the smooth poly-finished white oak, to the endlessly-blocked-smooth and perfect internal bedsides, to the use of high quality polished stainless steel hardware. If you can find a car show with a "Best Truck Bed" award, this one will win it--every time!

The chassis was obviously taken off the body, and is super clean and detailed. A Camaro sub-frame was welded onto the front, and was smoothed, painted, and polished to the point it looks factory to all but those who are truly in the know. Power front disc brakes, clean, painted frame and differential, painted and polished A-arms, gas tank, and clean aluminized dual exhaust with crossover pipe round out the highlights underneath.

Inside the cab, the cocoa brown interior stands up to the rest of the truck's quality. Everything is new, from upholstery and carpet, to the excellent finish of the dash, roof, and door panels. It features power steering, a tilt column, and new glass all around, and new chrome and stainless hardware.

The truck wears high end Billet Specialties high-polished 15" wheels (no wheel weights on the outside, and quality is such constant polishing is unnecessary), excellent tires, matching painted calipers and drums, all new chrome bumpers, tailgate hardware, new hood hinges, and a custom painted and polished front grill with integrated turn signals.

Under the hood is a smooth, reliable Olds 350 V8, mated to a TH350 automatic transmission. This truck always starts, drives way better than an original '55, and is not annoyingly loud or obnoxious. Drives out great in town or out on the interstate.

The truck does not have AC, and the speedo and gas gauge are inop at this time. If the truck doesn't sell fairly quickly, I will fix these items myself, with a corresponding increase in price as a result. Buy it as it sits, and customize it the way you want with the resulting satisfaction that goes along with "making it yours."

This truck today would easily cost north of $125k to build to this level of competence and finish. I love this rig, and my wife and I featured it prominently in our wedding/pictures, but we are thinning the herd as we have other priorities we'd like to focus on, so sadly, this one must go.

$51,995 obo.

Come see it in person, you'll be impressed. If you can find a nicer classic GMC truck for less, more power to ya.
