Wikipedia reports that the 1956 Continental Mark II is an ultra-luxury coupe produced by the Continental Division of Ford. It was designed as the flagship vehicle of Ford Motor Company and is known for its elegant design and high-quality craftsmanship and is hand crafted construction with a production of just 3000 units. The Mark II was not classified as a Lincoln at the time, although later models would be. The color on this car is an original color and is called Forest Green. The odometer reads 75k miles, however the odometer has more than likely turned over once to twice in its lifetime. This Continental has a 368 cu.in V-8 engine with 285 hp. This car has a 3-speed automatic transmission. This car was 1 of only 90 that came with air conditioning, which does not work presently. The previous owner installed an aftermarket, below the dash air which currently blows cold. This car needs a lot of tender, loving care and much restoration. The windshield wipers are missing as well as the dome light. Chrome covers for locks and trim pieces are in the car but need to be reinstalled. Did you know that Elvis Presley once owned a white1956 Continental Mark II, like this one, which he added to his high-end collection of vehicles. (See story by Jeannette Freed.)
