Seller's Notes

1960 Buick LeSabre 2 Door Sedan The Buick LeSabre was born thanks to Harley Earl's design and concept car of 1950. The name was chosen to represent the car's cutting edge, (get it?), design. The first generation was released in 1959 and lasted just one more model year and offered as a station wagon, 2 door sedan, four door hardtop, and even convertible. 1960 saw the introduction of Buick's Tri-shield logo.  For consignment, a 1960 Buick LeSabre 2 door sedan showing 99,128 miles, but the true miles are unknown. Thanks to a high quality restoration, a bit of custom resto-modding including some custom Ridler wheels and low profile bands, a rebuilt power plant, and some new paint, a lot of re chroming, and a like new interior, and plenty of carefree miles of spacious driving all over this galaxy! Exterior Few new age Buick buyers would ever dream of their coveted Tri-shield adorning an aggressive design like this. Fewer still would ever dream of accenting that courageous design with a coat of Nautical Blue, but that's exactly what this restorer did. In typical 60's fashion, Buick's first generation LeSabre is adorned with long surfaces and sharp creases that are incredibly hard to make straight. Wrap-around front and rear glass are topped by a contrasting white hardtop. Dual headlights protrude from the front fenders framed in the center with a shaver style grille and the Tri-shield in the center, and a beautifully chromed bumper wraps around the fenders, and this car looks like not only can it drive you down the road in Buick style but may even be able to fly! 20-inch Ridler wheels with low profile tires are on all 4 corners giving this  Mid Century car a contemporary twist. A single bubble in the paint is the only imperfection we find on this show stopper. Interior The interior has spared no expense when it comes to modern looking with plenty of space, and Parchment white vinyl benches, split in front and custom stitched with a Tri-shield in back, are in beautiful condition. Door panels also have the Parchment in tuck and roll with some lower carpeting and LeSabre subtly embroidered in. The deep dash uses a fine mix of pleated and chromed vinyl panels that cascade down from the inset speedometer. A big parchment steering wheel fronts the dash and a lower brushed stainless panel with the transmission selectors in round bezels and a gun sight indicating which position the transmission is in. The original Sonomagic radio resides to the steering wheel stage right when the lower panel dies into the passenger glove box panel. Like new tan plush carpeting and the headliner is near perfect.  Drivetrain The show must go on, and it does under the long hood where we find a clean 364ci V8, rated at 235 horsepower and fueled via a 2-barrel carburetor. Black and gold dominate the engine bay and a polished alternator throws some silver in the mix. It's backed by a Dynaflow Turbine drive 2-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the rear axle and 3.07 gears.  UndercarriageHave a gaze at the undercarriage pics, and you'll see it's all; buttoned up fully restored and re coated steel. This Buick rides upon independent coil sprung front suspension, and a 3 link coil sprung rear suspension. Power drum brakes are all around and dual exhaust runs through FlowMaster mufflers before exiting via chrome tops at the rear corners.  Drive-Ability Power steering is a welcome feature of this car which has a profile so low, it almost slithers onto the test loop after we bring the V8 to life. This tire and wheel set up really ground the car and makes it handle more like a sports car and less like a family sedan. It's got adequate power, straight tracking, and a fantastic greenhouse that allows wide visibility to see, and to be seen. We note the radio is not working but all other functions in this special ride work as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive,
