2001 BMW Z8 Roadster. Outstanding original condition inside and out, showing virtually no wear. Finished in titanium silver metallic over black leather. A stunning combination that heralds back to the German racing heritage, and the proper color combination of a thoroughbred high-performance German car. It is powered by 400 hp 5.0 L normally aspirated V-8, backed by a six-speed manual gearbox. This Z8, Vehicle Identification Number WBAEJ13422AH61455, completed production at the Munich-based Bayerische Motoren Werke in January of 2001 as a 2001 model-year. This car is one of just 2,543 Roadsters that were destined for the U.S. market.
The BMW Z8 was developed under the codename "E52" between 1993 and 1999, through the efforts of a design team led by Chris Bangle, Henrik Fisker and Scott Lempert. The Z8 was originally designed as a styling exercise intended to evoke and celebrate the 1956-1959 BMW 507. Prototypes were spotted in testing between 1996 and 1999. A concept was later developed and showcased in October 1997 at the Tokyo Auto Show. The BMW Z8, with its silky smooth 4941cc 394hp MFI DOHC V8, could achieve a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds. Car and Driver magazine tested the car and found it outperformed the Ferrari 360 Modena in acceleration, handling, and braking.
This Z8 runs exceptionally well and pulls strongly through its 6-speed manual transmission, which shifts flawlessly. It has recently had a clutch pack replacement and the addition of a strut tower brace.
If you are seeking an exceptional addition to your collection, or simply want to realize your dream of owning a Z8, this vehicle provides an excellent opportunity for the discerning buyer.
