The 2022 RAV4 Prime has EPA fuel economy estimates of 94 MPG-equivalent in combined city/highway driving when running in EV/hybrid mode, and 38 mpg combined in gas/hybrid mode. These estimates are good compared to other plug-ins in the hybrid SUV class.
Edmunds, however, easily got the EPA-estimated 42 miles of electric-only range in their testing.
The RAV4 Prime has an 18.1-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It provides an estimated 42 miles of range on electric power. Charging the Prime's battery takes around 12 hours using a 120-volt (Level 1) connection or between about 2.5 and 4.5 hours using a 240-volt (Level 2) station.
