The first Plus 8 to be delivered new through dealer channels without a propane tank since the early 1970s, this very special Morgan has been prized by its original owner since he ordered it from the factory in late 1997 for 1998 delivery. Unusual among even these special automobiles, this Morgan is an all-alloy, long-door (nearly an inch longer than standard) and wide body (1 1/2) with 3 more legroom and pedals moved 1.5 towards the bulkhead. It also features the early and most desirable 9.351 compression Rover 4 Liter V-8 engine with a different camshaft profile only found on the first 100 cars built by Morgan this is couple to the silk smooth shifting Rover R380 5-speed manual transmission. Morgan 16 Centrelock light alloy wheels are also a rear discovery and preferred by company founder Peter Morgan on his own cars these are considerably lighter than the more commonly seen chrome wires. A lengthy list of John Worrell, Melvyn Rutter and Morgan Motor Company accessories in stainless steel continue to set this car apart from standard order cars this includes the stainless badge bar complete with event badges, luggage rack with leather straps. stainless windscreen hardware, bonnet catches and handles, and much more.
