A beautiful example of a older frame off restored TF 1500, California car just out from 10 years in storage.
For MG, the final refinement of the T series was the TF. Produced from 1953-1955, MG ended the production with 9,602 TFs of which only 3,400 were 1500s. After 19 years in production, the final TF edition received a dramatic facelift and the best features to compete with the newer streambodied sports cars. Notable features in the final TF 1500 production model included a more robust 1466cc engine with 63bhp, new pressurized cooling system, sloping grille concealing a separate radiator, headlights faired into the fenders, redesigned rear bonnet and a more spacious interior.
A great example MG, of the final 3400 TF 1500s produced. Complete professional frame off restoration performed in the early 2000s. Restored to original factory specification with great detail. Complete body, mechanical, electrical, hardware and upholstery restoration. Every component restored, replaced or refinished. Since restoration in early 2000s, the car was shown at a few car shows and traveled very little (see undercarriage pictures). This MG went into storage around 2006 in Los Angeles, CA. Same owner for approximately 12 years. California titled. Equipped with numbers matching engine and manual transmission, finished in correct MG Red with Beige interior. The fabric top appears in decent aged shape with no rips. Since coming out of hibernation, the MGs fluids have been changed, gas drained and gas tank flushed, carburetor adjusted, 4 brake wheel cylinders replaced, and car was polished. This MG needed very little to look this good, and runs and drives just as well. During storage, this MG fell victim to moisture being trapped in the doors, causing rust bubbling. The bubbles are precent on the doors, below the doors on the rocker panel, and a few bubbles on the cowl.
This MG will come with cold weather windows, wheel wrench, and carburetor kit. Equipped with beautiful wire wheels with space, older Dunlop tires (all 5 hold air), Lucas fog lights, side windshield wind wings (like new), and luggage rack.
