1967 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle SS396 Tribute I suppose what I like most about Chevelle, it does exactly what I want it to do. Quick sized for the driving man who wants a car with reflexes as quick as his own. Oh sure, it looks sharp too, but it's those great reflexes I go for. Quick and sure. Turns, corners, you name it, it just feels good around you. If you like to drive and you drive a lot, you'll like Chevelle. From the 1967 television commercial. For consignment, a 1967 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle SS396 tribute with a title verified 1,063 miles. This red hot number had a frame off restoration and now rocks a 502ci V8 putting down over 600 horsepower. If it's show and go you desire, this Chevelle will light your fire!  Exterior The two stage Bolero Red paint is hotter than a fire engine and covers the long, steel panels of this car with perfection. Chevrolet got it right in '67 with a well done balanced design and with the SS additions that include the vented bulges on the hood, providing a more muscular profile. The chrome is in great shape and the narrow grille, dual round headlights, and accenting bezels that mirror the grille also look fresh. From the back, its symmetrical eye candy with twin buttresses, finely gapped trunk lid, and ribbed tail lights bookending a spectacular black panel detail while reverse lights flank the license plate in the bumper and exhaust tips emerge underneath. More chrome is found on the 15-inch Cragar SS wheels with staggered size wheels, solidifying the car's muscular stance. We could find no glaring exterior imperfections on this '67. Interior Black ribbed vinyl is used on the door panels that carry electric window switches, four for the driver, one for the passenger on spotless doors. The bucket seats are also showroom like with tight, smooth black vinyl that is mirrored by the rear bench and back sidewalls which also feature window switches. A three spoke steering wheel fronts a digital dash, black when off and illuminating with blue digits when on, fitted into the dash as if Chevrolet put it there. But it's back to '67 to the right with an AM/FM radio and standard A/C panel in the red painted lower dashboard, and striated metal panel above the glovebox on the right. The Holley Sniper screen is mounted to the left of the steering wheel and a center console houses a clock and a T-shifter in its faceplate with gear indicators to the right. Black carpet below, a stitched headliner above, and a trunk finished with black carpet are all immaculate and show worthy.  Drivetrain The show continues under the hood where polished parts outnumber those that are not while glossy black inner fender wells reflect the chrome like a mirror. Here we have a Blueprint 502ci V8 with aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and a Holley Sniper 2 EFI system on top. It's backed by a Monster 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission with a Holley trans cooler and a 12 bolt Moser rear with 3.73 gears and Positraction. If you don't win for best body and paint, you'll have a good shot at best engine bay with this fantastic presentation. Coated headers start the exhaust process. Undercarriage Body, bay, and interior spotless. Here's Act Four of the show, the underside. Clean as can be with painted and polished parts that impress. The stainless Pypes mufflers cap off a stainless dual system that forms an X in the middle and downturned tips at the back. The 4 link suspension is painted red to accompany the coil springs in front while a stabilizer bar is up front to work with the cold springs there. Power brakes are employed as front disc and rear drum.  Drive-Ability As clean as this car is, and with attention to mechanical detail, we would expect nothing less than a great performer with power for days, straight tracking, better than new handling, and braking on demand. And that's exactly what we found during our short jaunt around the test loop. All check marks for functionality with the sole exc
