Seller's Notes

1933 Ford Model B Pickup Starting with the Model B range, introduced in 1932, Ford's famous Flathead V8 engine was available in the truck lineup. Evolution throughout the Thirties saw Ford's truck design differ from the passenger cars, but in 1940, the half ton models adopted the front end look of the car lineup. Civilian retail production was halted in 1942, due to World War II.  Hemmings.com  For consignment, a 1933 Ford Model B pickup showing 30 miles, but the true miles are unknown. When its engine was installed in 2019, proper break-in measures were employed for the rebuilt 283ci V8 with new pistons and mild cam.  Exterior Two stage Hydro Blue shines bright on this truck and one can not help but notice the rich contrast of the 15-inch red wire wheels and their staggered tires that create a proper street rod raked stance. Headlights are mounted on a light bar that runs horizontal and parallel with the chrome bumper while the blue painted grille accentuated its polished rim and nose jewelry. The fixed rear window is home to a modern third brake light and overlooks a beautiful oak bed with stainless bed strips and clean, blue side walls. The running boards connect the sweeping front fender to the arched rear, and our consignor notes to avoid stepping on it when getting in and out. That means no rides for the kids, either. The paint, hardware, and trim are in great shape and we could not find any exterior imperfections.  Interior Handsome gray vinyl door panels show a stitch pattern along with smooth upper and both are exceptionally clean and matched in color and quality by the bench seat, headliner and rear wall treatment. Up front, the hot rod steering wheel leads to a body colored dash embellished with real wood faceplates, first around the very cool Classic Instruments vintage style gauges, then over the glove box and lower heater vents. More contrasting wood is found as the frame of the rear window. A straight Hurst shifter rises from the floor covered in matching gray carpeted mats. It's all very fresh inside.  Drivetrain Clean and absolutely show worthy is the rebuilt 283ci with new pistons, a mild Comp cam, an Edelbrock intake, and three 2-barrel Rochester carburetors. What's not polished is painted with only the exhaust manifolds relatively untreated. Behind it, a T5 5-speed manual sends power to the Ford 8 in back. The truck runs on a 12 volt system.  Undercarriage Get out your fork and knife because you can absolutely eat off of the underside of this truck! It's clean and glossy, free of rust and oil, and just a show piece on its own. The dual exhaust runs through MagnaFlow mufflers, then exits in front of each back wheel. Disc brakes in front, drums in back and suspension consists of a 4 bar with transverse leaf springs in front and ladder bars with coil overs in the back. Even the red wire wheels shine through underneath, introducing another color amongst the black, blue, wood, and stainless. Drive-Ability She sounds amazing and as we get going, we're doing 140 before we know it. Actually, there's a calibration issue with the speedometer and we're simply rolling out of the garage. But we do pick up some speed and the engine delivers smooth power and the truck tracks straight and true. Other than the speedometer, all functions operate as they should in this nicely sorted and built Model B. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.                What's not to love here? A vintage Ford pickup done right! It's clean inside and out and there's not much more to write as we'll let the photos tell the story. We don't think the next owner will be disappointed in the least. We just wish it was us. Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-sq
