The i7 has a good fuel economy score for the luxury electric car class. Depending on the size of its wheels (19 to 21 inches), the 2024 i7 gets an EPA-estimated 74 to 87 MPG-equivalent in the city, 80 to 95 MPGe on the highway and 77 to 90 MPGe in combined city/highway driving.
Charging the i7 at home using a Level 2 connection, such as a 240-volt outlet or BMW Wallbox charger, can recharge the i7's battery from 0% to 100% in a little under 12 hours. Level 2 chargers in public places, parking garages and shopping centers can add about 30 miles of range in one hour. Using a DC fast charger, the i7 can add about 80 miles of range in 10 minutes, while recharging the battery from 10% to 80% takes 34 minutes. You can also charge the i7 using a standard 120-volt household outlet, but we don't recommend it. At a glacial charging rate of around 1 kw-per-hour, it would take about 48 hours to fully charge the battery.
With its odometer now hovering around the 5,280 mark, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the Basic New Vehicle Limited Warranty until March 2028 or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first)!
