51,582 miles
1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Coupe  With these new models, Chevrolet, the leader, bid for first place again in 1941. Chevrolet, first in sales in nine of the last ten years, presents for 1941 these greatest of all Chevrolets, designed to be first again, styled to be first again, engineered to be first again, built to be first again. For 1941, it seeks to maintain that leadership with motor cars designed to out value by far all previous Chevrolets and low priced automobiles. Great news from the sale brochure, unless you recently purchased a 1940 model. For consignment, a 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe coupe with a title verified 51,582 actual miles. A 3 inch chop and bright red exterior are only the tip of the iceberg for this well done street rod. This example puts the Special in Special Deluxe!  Note: This vehicle is sold with a New Jersey salvage branding on the title Exterior The nose forward design is eye- catching and enhanced by the forward leaning B and C pillars and the streaking side spear that starts at the hood vents that contrast the two stage Viper Red paint. The fenders still flare out, but the door handles have been shaved and the roof chopped which streamlines the ride as it hunkers down on 15-inch Billet Specialties bladed wheels, each with a 215/65R15 tire enjoying an early 2023 date code. Out back, a landslide of glossy red paint wears diminutive tail lights mirrored in shape by the dual exhaust under the chrome bumper, while in front, fender ornaments create more visual movement and the wide grinning grille is a clinic in the use of chrome. The paint, trim, and brightwork is excellent and we could find no glaring exterior imperfections. Interior Bright red gives way to calming black on the inside, beginning with handsome door panels with pleated inserts and smooth surroundings along with electrical window switches. From there, we move on to modern bucket seats, borrowed from a late model Chevrolet SS, in black leather and this update is also present in the rear bench, complete with fold down armrest and head restraints, and all are in very nice condition with some slight compression on the driver's seat. A proper street rod steering wheel fronts the body colored dash, a mix of old and new with black faced VDO gauges embedded and the original grate that contours to the original clock. Air has been added along with an AM/FM/CD radio and tachometer in the center console that also houses a Lokar shifter in late model style. Black carpet, gray headliner, and fully finished trunk are all in very good conditioning rounding out this tidy cabin. Drivetrain Under the hood is a gleaming, show quality 350ci V8 with an Edelbrock 4-barrel, headers, power steering and power brakes. It's mated to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and power ends up at the 10 bolt axle with Positraction. Undercarriage Clean and dry underneath with minimal surface rust and no errant fluids anywhere! The dual exhaust runs through Thrush mufflers and then makes a beeline to the oval tips out back. The brake set up consists of power assisted disc in front and drums in the rear and suspension consists of coil springs at the helm, leaf springs aft. Drive-Ability It's modified '41 inside and out and the modern seats are a welcome upgrade and excellent place to pilot this red flyer as we start up the 350, listen to the sweet exhaust note the Thrushes deliver, and roll this rod onto the test loop. No complaint here as the car moves out quickly, handles well, and stops as it should. All functions operate as they should and we're anxious to get this one on the showroom floor and on websites around the world. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. The right color, right combo of old and new, A/C and a CD player, and just an overall nice build.
