Seller's Notes

1930 Ford Model A Coupe  Today, more than ever, the Ford car is a notable example of high quality at a low price.  Its distinctive beauty, so apparent in lines and color, extends also to the upholstery and appointments.  You note it as you open the doors and see the attractive, comfortable interiors. You find it in every detail of trim and finish.  These and other considerations are of great to every man and every woman who is contemplating the purchase of a motor car. From the 1930 Ford sales brochure. For consignment, a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe coming to our Hallowed Halls with a title verified 16,610 actual miles.  Presenting in period correct colors, this A is ready for show or to participate in your town's local parade!   Exterior French Gray paint coats the car in epic two tone fashion, here embellished by a cream pinstripe that runs over the rear slope and is a nice visual pick up with the yellow 19-inch wire wheels. Along with a winged motometer, the radiator's frame is polished metal which is matched in presentation by the straight bumper in front and the split bumpers in back. In typical fashion, the fenders and connecting running board are painted black providing a nice contrast to the earth tone of the car and allowing the white wall tires to really pop, visually that is. The trunk mounted out back is a nice touch with saddle leather straps and accents fitting perfectly on the fold down luggage rack. Moving in within 20 feet of the car reveals some imperfections that include cracking paint, a cracked fender, scuffs, scratches, chips, and crazing.      Interior Mohair door panels and their pleated map pocket are in good condition with some fading where a knee might be. That fleece-like material is also used on the bench seat, channel tufted in brown and in nice shape. The rumble seat out back is in good condition, covered in black grain vinyl, and we note a tear in the vinyl frame. The basic 4 spoke steering wheel is presented to the driver and fronts color keyed dashboard and cloverleaf silver plate in the middle housing the ignition and some period gauges. The slim and simple shifter rises from the floor adjacent to the handbrake, all surrounded by a brown mat cut to contour the floor and around the pedals. Up above, the soft headliner is also coated in mohair showing just a touch of age. A CB radio is present under the seat.  Drivetrain Behind the engine cover is a driver quality 201ci inline 4 cylinder producing 40 horsepower and presenting in very clean condition. It is fueled by a 1-barrel backed by a 3-speed manual transmission which sends the 40 horses to the back axle with 3.78 gears. The car remains on a 6 volt system.  Undercarriage Generally clean underneath where we note some residual oil on the oil pan and transmission. The single exhaust flows from the engine to a stock style muffler, ending just before the rear axle. Transverse leaf springs are found front and back to provide the car's suspension. Mechanical drum brakes are utilized front and rear.  Drive-Ability The comfortable enclosed cab must have felt like the lap of absolute luxury in 1930 and offers wonderful visibility. Around the loop the car ran well and all operational offerings worked as they should including lights, gauges, and brakes. The CB is not hooked up so does not operate. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.  A drivable show car that is nearly the 100 year mark, this multi hued throwback to a time when not many other brands of cars occupied the roads. Watching vintage footage of the time, the roads were often not delineated, so it was a bit of a free for all where Model A's crisscrossed each other across gravel or loosely paved surfaces. It was the wild frontier, and who wouldn't want a piece of history from that era? If you're in the market for
