23,108 miles
The Plymouth Road Runner was built from 1968 through 1980 but it’s the first generation that matters most in collectability world! 1968,69 and 70 the US would still be very much embedded in the muscle car world. Enter the Road Runner, which would be based on the Belvedere. The interior was Spartan and few options were available. Plymouth was hoping to sell about 20,000 units in its first year but numbers turned out much higher in the 45,000 range. Not much changed for 1969 with the exception to the tail lights and grill with now a optional bucket seat. This particular really cool car has had three owners from new with the current owner/consignor having the car since 2006 purchased out of Springfield IL. The second owner was a collector and the car did not get much use. The first owner used the car to drag race and was based in Charlotte NC. The engine has been modified with a cam, it is a numbers matching block and 4-speed transmission. It has a Dana 60 rear end, adjustable air shocks in the rear, oversized rear tires and remote radio in the glove box. Since 2006, maybe 2,000 miles were added along with a new clutch and power steering, which is a very nice addition if you ask me. This is a really nice driver quality example with the underside showing as it should, tidy trunk, interior and paint. The interior does sport after market bucket seats but the original bench does come with the car as seen in pics. This Road Runner starts up nicely and idles well. It shifts great and goes down the road very strong. We welcome any questions or inspections here in our Traverse City location.
