400 miles
2006 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster Motorcycle Overall a great basic bike that's fun to ride, sounds and looks amazing. This was the first of the rubber mounted engine and has twin disc brakes and pillion fittings. I am very happy with it, super reliable and very good build quality. It suits my style of riding, laid back cruising. I used it round town, weekend rides and the occasional long journey. Despite the age of the bike it is in immaculate condition. An owner testimonial at motorcyclenews.com For consignment, a 2006 Harley Davidson 883 sportster motorcycle with a title verified 400 actual miles. This bike afforded many the opportunity to enter the world of Harley ownership and this low mileage example has the added benefit of Screamin' Eagle pipes and air cleaner, a Gunslinger seat, and buckhorn handlebars. Fresh out of storage, this hog will need some going over before its ready to hit the open road. Exterior It was called the baby Harley for its compact shape considering the maker, and it's a handsomely proportioned bike with the visual drama of a V-twin mounted in a glossy black frame. Mirror-like black paint on the tank and fenders contrast intensely with the bike's chrome and prominent polished metal engine components and lights housing. A red and silver decal on each side of the tank is bright and recognizable and the leather black Gunslinger seat is in immaculate condition, canting rearward by the 19-inch front chrome wire wheels matched with the 16-inch wheel in front. Other than some evidence of use on the underside, the bike presents in near pristine visual condition. Functionality The control center presents a clean and modern speedometer with embedded digital window, underscored by a light bar with fine indicators, clamped to the chrome buckhorn handlebars which add more curve over the stock bar which are included with sale. Smooth, rubber grips are flanked by plastic housing for sizable thumb switches, all in black. Foot pegs are ribbed and rubber coated and ready for two. Drivetrain If you haven't guessed by the name, the bike is powered by an 883cc V-twin with a 1-barrel carburetor and rated at 51 horsepower. It has a 5-speed manual transmission that transfers power via belt drive. Dual Screamin' Eagle exhaust exit right with flashy chrome pipes and disc brakes are utilized front and rear. Suspension includes cartridge forks in front and double coil overs in back. This bike presents as practically new and could be your first foray into the coveted world of Harley Davidson ownership, or as a unique addition to your HD collection. As another owner wrote at Motorcycle news, Riding makes me smile. Sitting and looking at it makes me smile. The exhaust sound makes me smile. The workmanship makes me smile. I like to smile.
