1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible - 400 V8 * 389 Dyno HP * Carousel Red (Code 72) * Black Top & Interior * A/C * Power Brakes * Fully Documented Restoration Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is pleased to present this striking 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible, finished in show-stopping Carousel Red (paint code 72) with a black power top and black interior. Powered by a strong Pontiac 400 V8 backed by its numbers-matching 400 automatic transmission and a 3.36 limited-slip rear, this Firebird is a fully restored, highly detailed example that looks as good underneath as it does on top - and we've got the receipts and photos to prove it. Drivetrain & Performance Pontiac 400 cu. in. V8 (non-matching numbers) Dyno-tested at 389 horsepower - documented, not a guess Original, numbers-matching 400 automatic transmission Original rear-end housing with all new gears 3.36 limited-slip rear end - great street-friendly performance ratio New rear axles Polished ceramic-coated headers feeding a dual exhaust system with crossover, visible in the underside photos The VIN originally called for a 350 HO, but the car has been correctly and tastefully upgraded to a Pontiac 400 V8, which was also an available option in 1969. Under the hood, the engine bay is show-caliber: Pontiac blue block, chrome valve covers, chrome hardware, and a distinctive Edelbrock triangular air cleaner painted to match the Carousel Red exterior. A chrome alternator, cleanly routed hoses and wiring, and a tidy black engine bay firewall and inner fenders all speak to the level of care that went into the restoration. A large gold power-brake booster and front disc brake plumbing are clearly visible, confirming the car is equipped with power brakes for confident stopping. From idle to full throttle, this Firebird feels exactly like a proper Pontiac muscle convertible should-plenty of torque, crisp shifts from the 400 automatic, and that unmistakable small-block growl from the dual exhaust. Cooling, Electrical & Security To keep that 400 happy in all conditions, the car features a thoughtfully upgraded cooling system: Auxiliary electric cooling fan mounted neatly inside the radiator shroud Fan positioned right at the upper radiator hose entry for maximum efficiency Wired into the A/C cycling switch, so it automatically engages when you turn on the air conditioning Adjustable temperature control for the auxiliary fan mounted on the driver-side core support inside the engine bay This is the kind of upgrade you don't see, but absolutely appreciate sitting in traffic on a hot day. Security is handled by a hidden kill switch, cleverly tucked under the dash just behind the radio volume knob. It's easy for the owner to reach but virtually invisible to anyone else-a simple, effective theft deterrent for a car this nice. Exterior - Carousel Red, Black Top & Classic Stance The photos speak for themselves: this Firebird pops in its Carousel Red repaint (correct code 72 from the cowl tag), performed roughly seven years ago in the car's original color. The finish has great depth and gloss, and the body panels line up nicely from the pointed nose to the rear quarters. Key exterior visual details: Dual-scoop performance hood, giving the front end an aggressive, GTO-like look Correct four-headlamp front fascia with integrated chrome grilles and bright bezels Chrome front and rear bumpers that shine beautifully Clean Firebird fender script and subtle side body lines that look razor-sharp in person Black power convertible top in excellent condition, paired with black boot when the top is down The car rides on a set of period-perfect 5-spoke wheels with bright trim rings and caps, wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires. The stance is absolutely spot-on: just enough rake to say muscle car, but still very streetable and comfortable. Interior - Black Buckets, Console & Woodgrain Inside, the Fi
