The CX-70 PHEV receives a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system. Combined output is 323 hp. Mazda estimates it will drive about 26 miles on all-electric power before switching to regular hybrid operation. All CX-70s use an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

Mazda claims up to 56 MPG-equivalent in combined city/highway driving, which is average for a plug-in-hybrid SUV.

Charging the 17.8-kWh battery takes 11 hours with a 120-volt charger or about 2.5 hours with a 240-volt (Level 2) charger.

With its odometer now hovering around the 8,485 mark, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory BUMPER-TO-BUMPER warranty until October 2027 or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first)! Additionally, its engine, transmission and drive axles will be covered by the remainder of the POWERTRAIN warranty until 2029 or 60,000 miles!
