The “Fuselage Look” was how Chrysler was describing and marketing its fourth generation of the Imperial lebaron that was built from 69-73. The bulging sides at the beltline and tucking in at the rocker panels make it look like an airplane fuselage. It made the gigantic car even wider and longer. Which the 73 Imperial was the largest production car that is not a limousine. A total of 15,796 Imperials were built for the model year 1972 and these cars were used by the US Secret Service which then turned them over to Hess and Eisenhardt, which converted them into limos for Presidential use. This particular unmolested, all original stunner is a sight to behold. This Imperial starts right up and idles, the car shifts nicely and goes through all the gears as it should. It’s a smooth ride for sure with good tires and brakes. The interior is in good condition, the paint and exterior are what you would expect from a 53 year old vehicle but still very presentable. The underside has surface rust as you would expect but no holes or rot. You don’t really see these cars out and about in the collector car world, in fact there have been very few comps in the last several years.
