2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2LZ Coupe The history of the Z06 can be traced to 1963 when Zora Arkus-Duntov, a racing enthusiast among other things, convinced the suits at GM to offer an option package for the racing community. RPO code Z06 was introduced and only 199 of them were sold in 1963. After a 40 year gap, the Z06 was reintroduced into the Corvette line and offered performance enhancements from the factory, and this continued and mushroomed with each generation, from C5 on. For consignment, a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2LZ coupe with a title verified 45,845 actual miles. This is two owner car, garage kept, and always serviced at F.C. Kerbeck, at one time, the east coast's largest Corvette dealer. It also sports a fresh ceramic coating on the exterior. Exterior Two stage Nightfall Gray Metallic sets the base here and the box was also checked for yellow brake calipers and the combination adds to the complete badassery of the car. That gaping front intake is underscored by a chin spoiler, complemented by a hood bulge behind the heat extractor vents. This car has more scoops than Baskin Robbins with brake cooling ducts on the rear quarters and more on the shoulder beside the fixed quarter windows. A black wing rises above clear lens tail lights, a Z06 field mark, and four massive exhaust ports exiting in the center and the ribbed accents on tail seem to have gained inspiration from the Cylon helmets of Battlestar Galactica and have a similar, sinister stare. 35 series tires wrap around 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels and the rears have a date code of late 2025, while the fronts are from 2022. Imperfections include a few checks in the paint, scrapes and long scuffs on the rocker cladding, touched up chips on the face, and chin scrapes.  Interior Kalahari leather, a shade of saddle brown, mixes with formed black plastic on the door to begin our dramatic view of the interior, and the black leather header has saddle stitching. Corvette puts criticism of seat design to sleep with the C7's saddle buckets, the driver's showing a touch of wear but otherwise in fantastic shape. The steering wheel is just this side of F1 with the paddles, buttons, and a wisp of carbon fiber design on the flat bottom. Moving north to south in the center gives you a screen with navigation and a back up camera and a sound system that is Bluetooth, XM, MyLink, CarPlay capable and has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Sliding down, we find the shifter in an aluminum faceplate, flanked by a leather grab handle for the passenger and in front of an armrest that's had some evident elbow time. Low pile carpet on the floor is perfect and is found in the cargo area while the charcoal covering on the headliner is in great shape. Drivetrain Under the hood is a clean, flat topped 6.2 liter LT4 V8 pumping out 650 incredible horses and set into motion with an 8L90E 8-speed automatic transmission. Those ponies are herded to the rear axle where 3.55 gears mixes with Positraction to deliver the power to the ground. Undercarriage Clean and dry underneath with a plethora of belly pans and aluminum plates to increase aerodynamics. SLA independent suspension is enhanced by the Z06 performance suspension package while dual exhaust runs tandem down the center and ends by encountering the OEM mufflers just before four trumpet-like tips. Naturally, power disc brakes are found on all four wheels. Drive-Ability No race suit is needed to drive this car but it wouldn't feel out of place. That said, the saddle leather strewn about gives it a slightly luxurious feel as we roll this roaring V8 onto the test loop. Our long checklist of items all gets a green light and our seat of the pants reports indicate this is a crazy quick car with incredible handling and a comfortable ride, even with sport tuned suspension. This well maintained gray rocket functions perfectly and all workable items operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall repr
