The 2024 CX-90 PHEV gets an EPA-estimated 56 MPG-equivalent in combined city/highway driving in all-electric mode. When operating as a hybrid, it gets a combined 25 mpg city/highway.

This Mazda has an all-electric driving range of 25 miles. It takes 6 hours and 40 minutes to charge the battery from 20% to 80% using a standard 120-volt household-style power outlet. The same charge takes about 90 minutes with a home 240-volt outlet (like what you use for large appliances), a dedicated home charger or a public Level 2 charger. Charging the car from an empty battery to 100% capacity takes a lot longer: 11 hours with standard charging and 2 hours, 20 minutes using a Level 2 charger.

With its odometer now hovering around 12,270, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory BUMPER-TO-BUMPER warranty until July 2026 or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first)! Additionally, its engine, transmission and drive axles will be covered by the remainder of the POWERTRAIN warranty until 2028 or 60,000 miles!

The CX-90 PHEV employs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a plug-in hybrid system with a single electric motor that pulls power from a 17.8-kWh battery pack. Combined output is 323 hp and 369 lb-ft, and Mazda estimates you can travel up to 26 miles on a full charge. It also has an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Charging the battery from zero to 100% when using a 240-volt power source takes about two hours and 20 minutes, Mazda says.

The plug-in hybrid models add a digital instrument panel.
