In fact, U.S. News didn't stop there; it threw ALL the flowers at the EV6: #1 in Electric SUVs #1 in Crossover SUVs #1 in SUVs with 2 Rows
The 2022 Kia EV6 won several other awards, including: 2022 European Car of the Year: This award recognized the EV6's design, performance, and commitment to sustainability. 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year: This award was given by the North American Car of the Year jury, which is made up of automotive journalists from the United States and Canada. 2023 MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Awards: The EV6 was named ''Best of the Year'' and ''Best EV.'' Best EV of 2022: The Drive named the EV6 ''Best EV of 2022'' in its inaugural awards distribution. TOP SAFETY PICK+: The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded this designation to the EV6 after it received the highest rating of Good in all six crash tests. Best Compact SUV of 2022: J.D. Power named the EV6 the Best Compact SUV of 2022.
The EV6 is Kia's first dedicated electric vehicle. It has a 5-door coupe-like profile, flush door handles, and unique LED lighting. The EV6 also has a long-distance driving range and ultra-fast charging technology.
As Edmunds writes, the 2022 Kia EV6 is worth a look if you're looking for an electric SUV that prioritizes driving enjoyment. It's got plenty of power, sharp steering and well-balanced handling.''
The Kia EV6's charging time depends on the method used. The EV6 can add up to 70 miles of range in just five minutes, or you can get an 80% charge in around 20 minutes when plugged in at a DC Fast Charging station (Level 3). That's a very fast charge rate, and it's possible because of the EV6's high operating voltage.
Plugging in at a 240-volt outlet or a Level 2 public charging station can fully charge models with the 58-kWh battery in six hours (seven hours with the 77-kWh battery). A typical 120-volt household-style power outlet (Level 1) can add a few miles of range per hour, which is helpful in a pinch but not practical long term.
