1961 Chrysler New Yorker

Approximately 1,436 New Yorker Town Country Wagon examples were produced for the model year. This car is finished in cream with a bronze-colored roof section and is said to have been repainted. Exterior features include a fender-mounted driver-side mirror, canted quad headlights, chrome bumpers, tail fins, a power-operated rear window, and New Yorker script badging. Corrosion is noted on the rocker panel ahead of the passenger-side rear-wheel opening.Styled 15" steel wheels have polished trim rings and are mounted with BFGoodrich Premier whitewall tires. A mismatched spare is housed under the rear cargo floor. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners.The six-passenger cabin features front and rear bench seats retrimmed in bronze upholstery with patterned inserts complemented by color-coordinated door panels. Equipment includes a power-adjustable front seat, power windows, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a push-button gear selector, a heater, and a Golden Tone by Chrysler AM radio. The dashboard is cracked, the original floor carpeting is worn through in the high traffic areas, the rear side-panel trim is peeling, and a section of the cargo-area carpeting is worn away.The two-spoke steering wheel is cracked and frames a 120-mph speedometer along with gauges for amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature.
