1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Having partnered with Zagato on the DB4 GT in the 1960s, Aston Martin announced a new collaboration with the Milan-based design house in March 1985. A limited run of V8 Vantage chassis were sent to Zagato, where they were shortened by one foot and fitted with an aerodynamically-styled aluminum body. Design cues include flush glass panels, split side windows, twin NACA ducts on the hood, a front air dam, a spoiler integrated into the trunk lid, and a double-bubble roof. The original body was finished in Javelin Gray according to factory documents shown in the photo gallery below. The current shade of Litchfield Black was chosen for the new body during the 1989 factory reconstruction. Closeups of the finish, lenses, and Saint-Gobain glass markings are included in the gallery. The front air dam has been refinished under current ownership. The seller notes areas of delamination on the edges of the windshield. V8 Vantage Ronal-style 16? wheels were added in 2017 and were mounted with 225/50 Michelin Pilot Sport tires at that time. The factory wheels are also included in the sale and are pictured in the gallery below. The V8 Vantage Zagato model featured an enhanced suspension system, which on this example was rebuilt by marque specialist Richard Stewart Williams Ltd. in 2017. Work included replacing the coil springs and front shock absorbers, as well as various bushings.
