Seller's Notes

1994 Subaru SVX AWD Limited Anniversary Edition It brought window within a window motoring to the XJS class: once the reserve of Italian supercars, it showed off Subaru's aircraft heritage in a way Saab could only dream of; a canopied fighter jet for the road reminiscent of the Fuji T-1 that was training the next generation of Japanese Air Defence Force pilots. Subaru had to pioneer a new metal to glass bonding process to get the job done: the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show car used a one piece moulded bubble that made the car unreasonably heavy. Hagerty.co.uk  For consignment, a 1994 Subaru SVX AWD Limited Anniversary Edition with a title verified 50,670 actual miles. During its production run from 1992 to 1997, just 14,257 SVX were sold in the U.S. and just 1,666 in 1994.   Exterior Arguably one of the best colors for an SVX, Barcelona Red covers all the non glass surfaces of the car and this particular example features a JDM grille, splitter, Alcyone hood badge, and clean corner lenses. While there's no getting around the epic greenhouse, the back of the car also presents a unique configuration with a narrow light bar that runs the width of the back and wraps around the sides. This happens under a sleek wing, sliver third brake light, and dual oval exhaust tips. 17-inch Konig wheels wrapped in 45 series, ZR rated tires add even more flair and a sunroof is on the red roof to allow even more light and air to penetrate the cabin. Imperfections on this rare car include minor scuffs throughout, a chip on the grille, scratch on the rocker panel and rear fender, touched up marks on the front apron, and chin scrapes.  Interior The wild design continues on the inside where taupe door panels feature a tan armrest that ascends to absorb the switchgear in a simulated wood panel. Luxurious leather bucket seats are like no other Subaru you've seen and the driver's side shows some slight wear. In back, the 2+2 is worthy of a grand touring car with padded and pleated leather along with head restraints. Up front, things go a bit more basic with the steering wheel fronting a simple and clean instrument cluster over a row of contoured buttons. To the right, things get funky with a big round button and a push button climate control panel over a covered AM/FM/CD/Cassette unit that hides behind a plastic wood door. The crushed leather of the armrests returns on the mid panel and glove box while the center console houses the shifter. SVX mats cover tan carpet and a tan headliner cleanly surrounds the overhead console and sunroof. In back, the trunk is finished with gray cloth mats and shows some use and for extra space, the rear seats can be folded down.  Drivetrain Under the hood we find a clean environment for the 3.3 liter horizontally opposed 24 valve DOHC 6-cylinder rated at 230 horsepower and of course, fuel injected. It is mated to a 4EAT 4-speed automatic transmission that routes power to both axles with 3.54 gear and limited slip. Undercarriage Clean and dry conditions prevail underneath with some typical oxidation on the metals but no errant fluids are noted. The single exhaust enters the original muffler out back which gives way to two tailpipes and chrome tips. Four wheel power disc brakes are on board with front rotors and pads changed within the last 600 miles according to the consignor. Suspension consists of Macpherson struts up front and dual parallel links with trailing arms and offset coil springs in back.   Drive-Ability We grab our sunglasses and head out onto the test loop where the H-6 provides good power and this low Subaru proves to be a car that handles well. Visibility is, of course, off the charts good and the cabin is a unique place to be! All functions on board operate as intended and we steer this rare rad red ride back to the mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the ti
