A chopped 1949-'51 Mercury coupe is the iconic car when it comes to "kustom kemps" and this 1951 Mercury Sport Coupe is a great example of these legendary "lead sleds." The builder di not specify the amount of top chop but the provided photos show a very low roofline. The Merc is loaded with traditional custom touches including Frenched headlights and taillights, shaved handles and trim, shaved bumpers, rounded hood corners, peaked hood, custom grille, fender skirts, slammed suspension, and rolled and pleated custom upholstery. The drivetrain has been updated with a Chevy 383-cu.in. "stroker" V8 and an automatic transmission. This Mercury coupe a "very nice, well-sorted vintage ride."
