Seller's Notes

1967 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle SS396 Tribute The 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle received a slight facelift compared to the '66 Chevelle, including less angular headlight surrounds and a larger bumper cutout beneath the grille. The Chevelle continued to be offered in three trims - 300, 300 Deluxe and Malibu. The 300 and 300 Deluxe were offered as a two door sedan, four door sedan and four door wagon. The Malibu offered plenty of different body styles, including two door wagon, four door sedan, sport coupe, convertible, and four door sport sedan. The hottest Chevelle was still offered as the SS396, but the L34 engine's output fell from 360 hp to 350 hp. Hagerty.com For consignment, a 1967 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle SS396 tribute with a title verified 72,843 actual miles. This one rings the bell with a rebuilt 402ci, new interior, and fresh paint! Exterior Named for an Arctic weasel, Ermine White now covers the car in two stage application and like that snow loving mammal, it's bright and beautiful. Ermines have black tips on the tail and so does our Chevelle with a clean, black latch panel and SS insignia dead center between pointed tail lights in an epic muscle car rear end capped off by angle cut exhaust tips. Up front, hood bulges house ornamental vents and the fascia shape mirrors that of the rear, this time with round headlights amongst horizontal bars of the grille. 15-inch polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels send the right message and are wrapped in 225/70R15 tires with an early 2021 date code. The paint and trim is excellent on the car with a few imperfections noted as scuffs near the cowl and A-pillar, a chip on one of the buttresses and cracking at its base, and scuffs on the window trim in one section. Interior Perfect black vinyl panels adorn the doors with typical period design and modest ornamentation which is essentially mirrored on the split bench seat and the grain vinyl front and rear presents in very nice shape. A wood tone rimmed, three spoke steering wheel fronts the dash where instruments reside in horizontal layout while a newer AM/FM/Cassette radio lives in the ribbed metal mid panel over the vent levers and added tri-pack of gauges. Black loop carpet floods the floor and a black headliner rises above while in the trunk, a gray flannel covering completes our tour of this spotless interior space. Drivetrain And talk about clean! Wow. This engine looks fresh and shines as a 402ci V8 putting out 240 horsepower with a 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission sending power to the 10 bolt rear axle. An orange block, chrome valve covers, and clean metals render this engine one you could eat off of! Undercarriage With fingers crossed, we raised this car onto the lift in hopes of a trifecta of show quality cleanliness, and our hopes were rewarded! Here, you'll find dual exhaust travelling through stock style mufflers on their way to the back. Power drum brakes are on all four wheels and coil springs are at both ends with a 4 link in back. And it's all remarkably clean. Drive-Ability It's a grand slam if the car runs and drives and this one hits it out of the park, providing gobs of power, smooth shifts, and straight tracking. Other than the clock and radio, all functions operate as intended and we head back to the mall to allow the white paint to reflect the showroom lights. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. The SS badging is merely icing on this cake. This is one clean sport coupe that is going to provide the next owner with lots of good times, endless conversations at car shows, and perhaps a trophy or two. If you've been pining for a Chevelle of this era, look no further than this one. But act fast, or it will disappear like a wily mongoose in the snow! 135177B150207 1-Chevrolet 35-M
