1984 Jeep Wrangler CJ7 Make no mistake, the Jeep CJ traces its lineage to the original 4 wheel drive Jeep vehicles of military fame. That heritage assures the rugged toughness of every CJ built. Since its creation over 40 years ago, more than four million Jeep vehicles have been built. The unique Jeep grille and profile are known and recognized throughout the world. From the 1984 Jeep sales brochures.  For consignment, a 1984 Jeep Wrangler CJ7 showing 1,184 miles, bu thet true miles are unknown. Although our consignor says mileage shown is tallied since the Blueprint crate engine was added as a part of a frame off restoration of this rig beginning in 2023.  Exterior The completely decal-less outside is based in two stage Shadow Gray paint which includes the famous grilles and is complemented by black trim that covers the headlight rings, bumpers, fender flares, hinges, mirrors, and of course, the canvas doors, bikini top, and roll bars. Black also colors the 15-inch wheels, here wrapped in LT rated all terrain tires with a late 2021 date code. According to the internet, the dies that stamped Jeep into the panels wore out towards the end of the run, so '84's and '85's read Joop instead of Jeep, and that's the case here. For your towing pleasure, there are a pair of modest shackles in front, while in back, twin pipes give a hint of what's tucked under the latched hood. Imperfections are limited to some bubbling on a side panel, a spider crack in the paint, and a missing lock cylinder leaving a hole in the tailgate.  Interior Inside, things are super clean with black vinyl low back bucket seats with contrasting red seat belts. A standard steering wheel fronts a new OEM instrument panel, painted to match and stacked with black faced AutoMeter gauges keeping the palette theme with red needles. The entire floor and side walls are cleanly Rhino coated in black and red stitched boots are at the base of the floor mounted shifter and transfer case selector. There's a Tuffy lockable storage box and arm rest in the center and in back, a fold down rear bench under the tonneau.  Drivetrain In the bay we have a spotless 350ci Blueprint crate V8 with aluminum heads, a Holley 4-barrel carb, and a dyno proven 371 horsepower. All that power is transferred via a rebuilt Tremec T176 4-speed manual that routes power to the Dana 30 in front and AMC 20 in back, both with 3.73 gears. The battery, starter, alternator, and aluminum radiator are all new. Undercarriage There are new Tom Woods driveshafts down here along with dual exhaust that come from the headers and run through stainless Borla mufflers and pipes. The leaf spring suspension has been upgraded with a 2.5 lift and Daystar body mounts connected to a Throttle Down CJ frame that's been powder coated. There are heavy duty tie rods, new engine mounts, fuel lines, and fuel tank. The brake lines that feed the power front disc and power rear drum are also new along with drums and rotors and so are the WARN hubs.  Drive-Ability This fresh build does not disappoint, well sorted and clean and a great sounding exhaust to occupy your auditory desires since there's no radio on board. Meanwhile, there's gobs of power here, a tall ride, and straight tracking. Only the reverse lights make our list of inoperable items as everything else works as they should. You'll find this one in one of our two truck rooms. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.  We're excited for the next owner of this clean 4x4. It checks all the boxes and has a nifty Easter egg in the Joop designation! If you're looking for a clean and powerful Wrangler, put this one on your list.
