2000 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Structure makes the difference - there's a reason the 2000 convertible feels so solid, so agile and so precise in its response to your driving input. This Corvette is substantially stiffer than the previous generation Corvette convertible, and it also has a lower curb weight. Lateral shake is virtually gone, and the ride is impressively smooth. This car received an NCRS Top Flight Award for originality and that certificate will come with the car along with the build sheet and window sticker.  Exterior 2,462 Corvette convertibles were black in 2000, and this is one of them and of course, it's a fine color for America's sports car, looking especially dapper with a black canvas top and glass rear window. Just like a stingray in the ocean, the car is wide and low, seemingly gripping the ground and close to it with low profile ZR rated tires wrapped around the 5 spoke staggered height wheels. Those tires have a late 2023 date code so you can be confident in their grip. Mid body molding adds some dimension to the sleek body panels while a flat decklid cascades to a rounded rump enhanced by quad tail lights and quad exhaust. Imperfections include some rock chips, touched up chips and scratches, a sizable repair under a front marker, and chin scrapes. Interior Two tone door panels place black over Light Oak lower inserts and both doors are in great shape. That Light Oak is also used on the leather bucket seats and our consignor states that only 40 2000 Corvettes had this color combination, but we were unable to verify. Meanwhile, the seats look great with only minor wrinkling on the driver's side and the thick, leather wrapped steering wheel is inviting as it frames the clean instrument cluster with arching switches to the side. Our center stack is right out of the Corvette brochure with clean charcoal plastic framing the AM/FM/Cassette radio and A/C panel, both with green digital readouts. Near flawless is how we find the center console and black booted shifter and the glossy black waterfall feature between the seats. Low pile beige carpet covers the floor and is clean and is also used to finish the trunk which basically looks unused.  Drivetrain Clean as could be is the 5.7 liter LS1 V8, rated at a healthy 345 horsepower and tied to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear axle with 3.42 gears with limited slip.  Undercarriage This all original configuration shows some use through metal oxidation and some paint loss from the mufflers of the dual exhaust system, but otherwise fully intact and clean. Naturally, power disc brakes are onboard and suspension consists of independent unequal length double wishbones with transverse fiberglass monoleaf springs. Drive-Ability Everything works as it should on this clean 26 year old car and it delivers the thrills Corvettes are known for. Good power and acceleration, stupendous handling, and race car like vibes on the inside.
