1954 Chevrolet 3100

For sale is a 1954 Chevrolet 3100 pick-up truck. This is a very special truck. It is a one family from new vehicle that was sold new at Marshall Motors in Bazine Kansas. The family sold it to a truck collector/dealer about 15 years ago and sat in his collection until I acquired it recently. It is a semi original survivor with 23k miles. I say "semi" survivor as its exterior paint was refinished in the early 80's. I only call vehicles with all original paint true all original survivors. It has pretty much been in collector car storage since then. That's why it still looks fresh even after 40 plus years. It was stored without fuel so there were no issues getting it back on the road. We literally added fuel and a new battery, and it fired right up and runs like new. We changed the oil and added air to the tires and started driving it.

Other that the exterior paint, it is an original survivor in its original Horizon Blue color. Just check out the original paint on the firewall! That tells the whole story if you know what I mean. The interior is original India Ivory paint with its brown seat coverings and door cards. There is NO rust or rust repair on this truck. Just look inside at the original paint in the cab corners and you will understand how amazing this truck is. The interior and engine bay are original. The tires have virtually no miles on them, but I believe were put on new when the truck was painted. There is some light cosmetic cracking on the sidewalls, but the rubber is still soft and pliable and to my sheer amazement do not shake at all with flat spots. That says a lot about how this truck was stored over the last 40 years. I plan on putting on new reproduction vintage tires as I will be driving this truck to shows and such. It goes down the highway as it is effortlessly and drama free 60mph plus with ease. Even the original owner's manual looks new. The original rubber floor mat has zero wear, but we will be replacing with a reproduction as it is as brittle as eggshells from age and is breaking apart. Check out the original pedal pads!

The 1954 is a very special one year only truck. The 1954 Chevy 3100 marks the final year of the Advance-Design series, which ran from 1947 to 1955. Known for its rugged simplicity and clean lines, this half-ton truck was built for utility but gained lasting appeal due to its balanced proportions and driver-friendly cockpit. The '54 model brought subtle updates: a one-piece curved windshield replaced the split design, improving visibility and sealing out weather. The grille was revised slightly, giving it a more modern face compared to earlier years. It was also the first year for the 105hp 235ci inline 6-cyl engine which was a big improvement in reliability and power over the earlier 90hp 216ci 6-cyl engine. It is equipped with a 3-speed on the column manual transmission. The trucks acceleration will surprise you! It is very capable of navigating modern traffic. The brakes work surprisingly well also.

Nearly all of these trucks you see are modified, resto mods, engine swaps, lowered, etc. I do not ever recall seeing one this original. It is basically as it left the factory including no turn signals or seat belts! LOL. If you are looking for one of the best surviving examples of a 1954 Chevrolet 3100 truck in the best color combo ever produced in my opinion, look no further!
