Seller's Notes

This LS-Swapped 1986 Land Rover Defender 110 is the ultimate off-roading machine with fantastic upgrades and an even better look! In the years following World War II, virtually every automaker around the world observed the success of the American Jeep, which was a light-duty, short wheelbase 4-wheel drive truck that was both rugged and agile enough to traverse seemingly any terrain. Making its debut in 1948, the British-made Land Rover had an unmistakable look and was powered by a modest 1595cc inline 4 cylinder engine. As the years progressed, this initial Land Rover design became a movie star, especially when the movie characters needed to traverse a thick jungle or were on a Saharan safari. These early trucks were no-frills, utilitarian trucks that were endeared by many but by the early 70s the Land Rover was becoming more popular in urban environments to daily users and the Land Rovers of this era began sporting improved features. Introduced in 1983, the Land Rover 110 marked a significant leap forward for Land Rover as the new 110 models were completely redesigned, complete with a new modern aesthetic as well as a more plush passenger cabin. The 110's new look body was more aerodynamic, yet still very much a Land Rover, and the improved body lines led to improved performance and fuel efficiency. The interiors were also completely overhauled with more comfortable and luxurious seating, an improved dashboard, and thus more ergonomic, making the 110 more desirable for longer journeys to an even wider audience of users. Mechanically, the Land Rover 110 was also upgraded significantly with the suspension moving to a coil spring design as opposed to old leaf springs which made these vehicles much more capable off-road and more comfortable when driving and riding on the road. Today, the Land Rover Defender 110 has remained a desirable collector piece due to its iconic exterior design, mechanical capability, and their wonderful interiors. Recently, the Defender has become a favorite of many customizers and restomodders likely due to their iconic design along with the substantial availability of parts and upgrades. By receiving modern amenities, such as bigger fuel injected engines, creature comfort options, and a vast array of styling add-ons, these early 80s and 90s trucks are even more comfortable and enjoyable to take on longer cruises and trips, and they can be easily customized to an owner's tastes and preferences. This particular custom 110 Defender comes to us after spending its most recent history in the Southern United States, where it was believed to have received the majority of its upgrades. Under the Puma hood on this '86 Defender is an upgraded 5.3L LS V8 engine equipped with modern electronic fuel injection. The Fuel Injected LS V8 is backed by an upgraded 4L80E Automatic Transmission that makes this Land Rover 110 an easy SUV for anybody to drive. This Defender 110 is outfitted with a selectable 4x4 driveline with high and low gearing that provides additional traction when needed, and you can even lock the differentials should you need it. Exhaust exits the upgraded powerplant via single exhaust generating a wonderfully throaty sound out of the rear exit tailpipes. This Land Rover Defender comes absolutely loaded with options! Power steering makes driving this vintage Defender really enjoyable since you can maneuver in and out of a tight parking spot easily with one hand. With power front disc brakes, bringing this British import Truck to a complete stop is also quite simple. Riding on a set of chunky Mickey Thompson Thunderer Trac Grip 285/75R16 tires mounted on 16 inch steel wheels, seemingly no terrain is too difficult for this Defender to traverse. Additionally, a rear-mounted spare tire is available should you need it. While this 110 Defender has plenty of cargo space, a Brand New Front Runner Roof Rack provides even more space to haul extra gear. The lighting has also been upgraded to
