Seller's Notes

This reproduction of a 1951 Jaguar C-type was built by Classic Jaguar Replicas of Berkshire, UK, in 2016 and was flown to Los Angeles in February of the same year. This is a rolling chassis complete with wiring and mechanical components. Just as Jaguar successfully raced, this example is RHD and has a single driver's door. The body is unpainted, 16-gauge aluminum. The tubular steel chassis is faithful to the original but has been modified to accept independent coil over suspension. Further details include the following: The rear axle has independent suspension, a 3.059 ratio, inboard disc brakes, and a handbrake. Damping is provided by Protech Twin adjustable shock absorbers. The front suspension has twin parallel arms and springs. There is an adjustable anti-roll bar and a 1 ½ turn (quick) rack. Braking in the front is provided by Fosseway Performance Race calipers and pads and .9 t0 1 servo, vented discs. The fuel tank holds 12 galls and is fitted with a Facet race pump. The Dunlop wire wheels were manufactured by Motor Service Wheels and are 5 x 16, 72-spoke wires with 185-15 Blockley radials that were rated to 150 mph when fitted but are now out of date and need to be replaced. A matching spare wheel and tire is in the rear of the bodywork. The interior is a reproduction of the original with green leather seats, 3-point harnesses, and correct instruments. A high-capacity aluminum radiator is in place along with a Mocal 11-row oil cooler. The electrical wiring is a bespoke copy of the original. Lights are from Lucas. The transmission mounting will allow for a stock Moss boss but also included is an adapter plate for a 1980 - 1986 Toyota Supra W57/W58 five-speed manual. An Xk140 C engine and Jaguar 4-speed manual gearbox were purchased when this project was moving forward but they were never married. The engine was purchased from the Otis Chandler collection about fifteen years ago and was freshly rebuilt at the time. Since purchase, it has been properly stored but should be inspected prior to installation. This is an excellent opportunity to pick up where the former owner left off and completing the project should be relatively straightforward and extremely rewarding. Please feel free to reach out for a discussion.
