As had become customary since Rolls-Royce’s acquisition of Bentley in 1931, the convertible variant of the Silver Shadow was also sold by the Bentley brand, though in far fewer quantities. Initially badged the T Mulliner Park Ward Convertible (just as the Silver Shadow), it was later renamed Corniche in conjunction with Rolls-Royce’s naming scheme in 1971. It wasn’t until the Corniche II’s release in 1986 that Bentleys received their own name: Continental.
Distinguished by Bentley’s traditional grille – this time with body-color vanes – and special Bentley-specific alloy wheels, the Continental is otherwise essentially identical to its Rolls-Royce counterpart. However, the Rolls-Royce sold in greater numbers, as only 194 of the first series Continentals were produced in comparison to 1,228 Corniche IIs. Naturally, this relative rarity makes them the investor’s choice between the two.
The investment-grade 1989 Bentley Continental Convertible featured here is finished in stunning Acrylic Wite over a gorgeous, impeccably kept Tan Connolly leather interior with a matching power convertible top. This incredible motorcar has been meticulously maintained and preserved from new and only driven 20,456 miles. This Continental is among one of the finest examples we've offered and comes accompanied with its original owner's manual, tools, and cocktail flasks/glasses. Bentley Continental of this era seldom come on the market, especially in such superlative condition and with this example's highly desirable factory color combination. Because of this, I personally believe the investment potential of this iconic hand-built motorcar will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires only the very best at an investment price!
