Seller's Notes

*1928 Ford Phaeton Kustom Supercharged*Few cars are more emblematic of the kustom car scene than a well-modified 1920s or '30s Ford. They often started out as stately or even somewhat subdued, but after stripping off running boards, adding larger powerplants, lowered suspensions and custom interiors, these became the basis for hot rodding, helping create a car culture that is still stronger than ever. This '28 Phaeton Kustom sports a blown 292 and comes with a unique story, being built into a hot rod initially in the 1950s, in the epicenter for the movement - Southern California. It then spent decades hiding out in the rafters of a barn in Northern Oregon before being sold to an enthusiast in Washington state who then had it brought back to glory. It was still in serious need of restoration, so it was entrusted to Nissen's Hot Rod Garage in Williams, CA for a full build between 2018 and 2022. When the car was stripped to bare metal before being finished in bright orange, the restoration team found an 1895 quarter in the car - also known as a Two-Bit piece, which quickly became the car's new name, with the quarter now enshrined in the car's dashboard. The finish work is impeccable from top to bottom, thanks to the expert craftsmanship and care by the artists at Nissen's.In addition to the bright orange paint, the car received a sensational custom removable Carson top with a split glass rear window, along with an aggressive set of 16-inch spinner-milled wheels wrapped in radial tires. As everything in this roadster is on display, the exhaust, mirrors, spreader bars and more are all highly finished in chrome, giving the car a stunning look. The interior is wrapped in black vinyl with orange pinstriping wrapping around the seatback and onto the doors. The dashboard is finished in body color and features custom pin striping, engine turned metal and modern gauges, as well as the aforementioned Two-Bits.Powering this Phaeton is a 292 cubic inch Ford V8, topped with a 4-71 supercharger. The Y-block V8 is an appropriate power plant for the Phaeton, although it is believed that in the 1950s the car ran with Oldsmobile power. The supercharger is topped with a Holly 850CFM 4bbl, and power is sent through a 5-speed Tremec gearbox to a Ford 9-Inch rear end with positraction. If you wanted to really have some fun in this car, a drag-racing line lock system was installed, making for some exciting burnouts. This car was built for shows and touring and has only seen 502 miles since its completion. Built to a high standard and with a high attention to detail, Two-Bit is ready for its next chapter with an owner looking for something truly unique and who appreciates old school hot rodding.*Key Features* * Comprehensive Restoration by Nissen's Hot Rod Garage in Williams, CA * Ford 292ci Y-Block V8 * 4-71 Supercharger * Holley 850 CFM Carburetor * 5-Speed Tremec Manual Gearbox * Orange Paint * Custom Pinstriping * 16-Inch Mag-Style Wheels * Whippet Front Grille * Polished Spreader Bars * Front Disc Brakes * Drag Racing Line Lock System * Shorty Headers w/Dump Tubes * Full Exhaust w/Chrome Rear Tips * Ford 9-Inch Rear End * Posi-Traction*Additional Information* * Registrations from 1950s to Present * Old Photos of Car * Build InvoicesFor more information on this 1928 Ford Phaeton Convertible Custom or any of our 100+ high-performance cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to stop by our Bellevue, WA Park Place Ltd campus - where we have over 40,000 sq ft of indoor showrooms filled with the finest cars.
