Engineering
Power comes from Lancia’s distinctive 2.0-liter aluminum flat-four engine, paired to a 4-speed manual transmission driving the front wheels. This particular example belongs to the 820.030 chassis series, which identifies it as the carbureted Flavia 2000 Coupe.
Later Flavia 2000 coupes with chassis series 820.430 were equipped with Lancia’s mechanical fuel injection system, while the 820.030 cars retained the simpler and often more easily serviced carburetor setup.
The flat-four layout allows the engine to sit extremely low in the chassis, contributing to excellent balance and a smooth driving character. Combined with front-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes, the Flavia delivers a driving experience that was remarkably advanced for its era and still feels composed and confident today.
