54,929 miles
1968 Chevrolet Camaro Hardtop Lean, clean, long, low, with the power and performance to match its sporty looks. Last year, this car demonstrated emphatically its sales appeal. This year, Camaro comes on even stronger with sensible styling refinements inside and out. It's your ticket to even bigger conquest sales in the economy sports car market. Ex-sell-erate in '68 with Camaro! From the 1968 Chevrolet Dealer Training film.  For consignment, a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro hardtop showing 54,929 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a title exemption. This may have been born a six cylinder sport coupe commuter car, but it's been to the gym and now presents as a muscular Pro-Touring edition with all the agility of a black mamba.  Exterior The spectacular exterior begins with two stage Tuxedo Black paint that reflects deeply and is contrasted by the bumpers that embrace the ends, the trim that surrounds the cabin, and by bright bezels that frame the two part tail lights. The fiberglass cowl hood is just the right height, balanced by the carbon fiber spoiler in back. There's a carbon fiber chin spoiler too, and it perfectly mirrors the angles of the grated grille which also features just the right amount of trim. Billet Specialties wheels occupy the corners and look light and fast while showcasing the slotted and drilled Wilwood brakes behind. Deep paint and great metalwork gave us a hard time finding imperfections. In fact, the only two include some slightly rough surface on the door edge and a slight gap issue in the corner. Interior Standard black vinyl door panels greet occupants as they open the door and both present cleanly, so we're not surprised by the tall buckets in front which also appear in great condition and so are the rear seats which mirror the ribbed stitching of the front. The controls start with a sport steering wheel which shares the tilt column with a tachometer ahead of the standard instrument cluster in more glossy black backing, and just like the outside, it's contrasted by silver with shiny knobs. Vent controls and an added tri-pack of gauges fills the center stack while a B&M shifter fills the console. Black loop carpet is clean and protected by Camaro embroidered mats, the black headliner is in great shape, and the trunk has a like new plaid vinyl mat. Drivetrain The clean party continues under the hood where we find the 427ci V8, a GMPP ZZ427 crate engine rated at 430 horsepower, no doubt aided by the GMPP aluminum heads it wears and the Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel carburetor. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission is mated to it and power is routed to the Fab 9 housing with a Detroit Tru-Trac posi rear end and 3.55 gears. Polished parts, headers, clean paint, and some red highlights make this spotless engine bay show worthy and go ready!   Undercarriage It's not just perfectly clean, it's laden with modifications meant to boost performance and rigidity including billet canted a 4 link suspension and Quickset Varishock coil overs. There's also a plethora of goodies from G-Machine including front control arms, subframe center connector, and anti-roll bar. As noted, four wheel disc brakes are on board from Wilwood and the stainless dual exhaust takes in a pair of MagnaFlow mufflers before the tips pass the body to expel spent fuel from the system. Everything here is shiny and clean. Drive-Ability It would be the ultimate irony if it looked this good and ran poorly. But nothing ironic here as the crate V8 sounds great and delivers excellent power to this clean machine and handling that's on par with the best. In lieu of bells and whistles, we have a clean and efficient interior and all items under our control work as they should, and we're anxious to get this out on the showroom floor!
