*1973 Triumph TR6*After the end of World War II, the United States began to see an influx of small, British roadsters from brands like MG, Austin Healey and Triumph begin to land on our shores. In direct contrast to the large, heavy cars most American manufacturers were building, these cars were small, nimble and provided a lot of driving enjoyment for not much money. This style of car became even more successful in the 1960s and one of the most popular variants was the Triumph TR6.This 1973 Triumph TR6 is an outstanding example that has been under the care of just two owners and has been in the Seattle-area from new. Finished in Carmine Red over Black vinyl, the car was sold new to a Maurice W. Keeler of Renton, WA who took advantage of British Leylands Overseas Delivery program, giving him the chance to drive his car around in England before bringing it stateside. After owning it just a few years, Mr. Keeler sold the car to the husband of the consignor in 1976, and it remained with them ever since. Thanks to a restoration in 2014 by British European Ltd in Seattle, the car currently presents in excellent driver condition. This example sits on a set of 15-hole wheels wrapped in redline tires, and features a chrome luggage rack on the rear decklid. On the inside, the two bucket seats are wrapped in black vinyl with a matching manual convertible top folded behind them. Drop down into the drivers seat and you are met by a 3-spoke steering wheel that frames a large white-on-black speedometer and tachometer, with smaller auxiliary gauges off to the right. The dashboard is a beautiful slab of varnished wood, which matches the wood shift knob with a Triumph badge on top.Powering this TR6 is a 2.5-liter inline-6 that breathes through a pair of Zenith side-draft carburetors and produces 105 horsepower and 143 lb-ft of torque - making for a lively driving experience thanks to its low weight. Power is then sent through a 4-speed manual gearbox with an electronic overdrive to the rear wheels. Out back, a pair of exhaust pipes gives the car an excellent sound, and checks all the British sports car boxes. The Triumph TR6 represents one of the most beloved of the British sports cars and also one of the best supported in the United States. With summer just around the corner, there is no better time to put a fun convertible in your garage and this TR6 is an excellent example with a unique and nearly-unreplicatable story.*Key Features* * Two Owners From New * Lifelong Seattle-Area Car * Delivered via British Leyland Overseas Delivery * Restored c.2014 by British European Ltd. in Seattle, WA * Carmine Red Over Black Vinyl * 2.5-Liter Inline 6 * Dual Zenith Side Draft Carburetors * Matching Numbers Engine * 4-Speed Manual Gearbox * Electronic Overdrive * Chrome Luggage Rack * Talbot Mirrors * Wood Dash TrimFor more information on this 1973 Triumph TR6, or any of our High-Performance, Exotic, Luxury, and Special Interest Cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or feel free to drop by our New Auto Campus in Boise, ID - Home of an Exciting Inventory of Luxury, Exotic, High Performance and Collectible Automobiles.
