This bike is a 1 OWNER!!!The 2021 Yamaha MT-09 was a complete overhaul of the popular naked bike, with Yamaha stating that over 90% of the components were new compared to the previous generation. Major updates focused on a more powerful engine, a significantly lighter and stiffer chassis, and a suite of advanced electronics derived from the YZF-R1.
Engine: A larger 890cc liquid-cooled inline-triple "CP3" engine (up from 847cc).
Performance: Produces approximately 117-118 horsepower and 67-69 lb-ft of torque, with peak torque arriving 1,500 RPM lower than previous models.
Weight: Claimed wet weight is 417 lbs, which is roughly 8 lbs lighter than its predecessor.
Transmission: 6-speed gearbox featuring a standard up/down quick shifter and an assist-and-slipper clutch.
Advanced Electronics: Features a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that manages lean-sensitive traction control, slide control, wheelie control (LIF), and cornering ABS.
Chassis & Handling: A new die-cast aluminum Deltabox frame and spin-forged wheels significantly improved agility. The steering head was lowered by 30mm to provide better front-end feel and traction during cornering.
Suspension: The base model includes 41mm KYB inverted forks fully adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound damping.
Digital Dash: A new 3.5-inch full-color TFT display replaced the older LCD unit, though some reviewers noted it was smaller than competitors' screens. Ergonomics: The riding position is largely upright with adjustable handlebars and footpegs to suit different rider sizes.
