Why This Car Is Special

The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody is the most powerful mass-produced sedan ever built at the time of its release. That is not marketing language — it is a documented engineering fact. Dodge extracted 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque from the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 by fitting it with a larger 2.7-liter supercharger, upgrading the fuel injectors to a dual-fuel-injection system, and increasing boost pressure compared to the standard Hellcat engine, which produces 717 horsepower. The Redeye engine is essentially the same unit found in the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, with some of the Demon's more track-specific features dialed back to meet street-car standards.
