2017 Honda CR-V EX

The 2017 CR-V was a big step forward for Honda's compact SUV. The 1.5L turbo four makes 190 horsepower with 179 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT that Honda actually tuned well. It gets up to 34 MPG on the highway, which is hard to beat in this segment whether you're running errands around Soledad or making the trip up to San Jose.

The EX trim gives you the stuff that makes a difference every day, leather-trimmed seats, a power moonroof, and a 7-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The back seat has real room for adults, and the cargo area is one of the best in the class. This was one of the years Honda really nailed the interior layout, everything feels logical and nothing gets in the way.

Honda Sensing comes on the EX, so you get adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation braking. Good safety tech for a 2017, and it still holds up.
