There is only one chassis number one, and this is it. This 2002 Chrysler Prowler carries chassis number one of the Inca Gold production run, making it the very first Inca Gold Prowler ever built. Across the entire production life of the Prowler from 1997 through 2002, only 616 examples were ever finished in Inca Gold out of the 11,702 total Prowlers built. This car is where that color's story begins. It is finished in Inca Gold with a matching Inca dash, white gauges, and Prowler floor mats with gold logos, and it presents in very clean condition with just 22,000 original miles. The original window sticker and all original documentation are with the car.
Under the hood is the 3.5 liter V6 backed by a four speed automatic with Chrysler's AutoStick feature, which lets you tap through the gears manually when the mood strikes. The engine produces 253 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque and moves this lightweight aluminum-intensive car with real urgency. The transmission sits at the rear of the car rather than up front, which gives the Prowler a near perfect 50-50 weight balance that translates directly into how it drives and handles.
Inside, the black leather interior is clean and well kept. The Inca dash ties the color story from the exterior all the way into the cabin, and the white gauges against the gold dash give it a bold, custom look that suits the car's personality perfectly. Chrome five spoke wheels complete an exterior that is as striking in person as it looks in photographs.
The Prowler was hand built at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, the same facility where the Dodge Viper was assembled, averaging just 14 cars per day. It was also the most aluminum-intensive production vehicle in North America at the time it was built, which helped keep the weight down and the driving experience sharp. Chrysler's design chief at the time said his love for 1930s era hot rods inspired the entire concept, and that DNA runs through every panel and detail of this car.
Chassis number one. First Inca Gold ever built. One of only 616 in existence. 22,000 miles and all original documentation. This is not something you come across twice.
