Having owned a half a dozen of these iconic Defenders I would describe this one as a driving project. I bought with grand plans but have since shifted in another.
The body and frame is solid and in very good condition. Shock towers cross members, bulkheads are not an issue. The truck starts easy and runs and drives with good power. It shifts and stops as it should.
The steering is good but the front end is tired and should be refreshed. At speed the ride is sketchy. The old, worn and oversized tires are certainly contributing to the front end woes.
The exhaust has no muffler and dumps under the cabin. The axle seals are weepy. The dash is cracked on the left corner. Instrumentation is mostly working although I have never driven it at night. In fact I have barely driven it all. Some aftermarket buckets are fitted and there are no rear seats. I do have the spare tire holder, but no spare.
I believe the price fairly reflects the condition and potential.
Located in Rowlett, Texas (75088) it is offered as is where is with a clean and clear Texas Title.
