Seller's Notes

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this third-generation Mazda RX-7 FD is one of the most iconic Japanese sports cars ever built. A genuine US manufacture import. Produced during the golden era of 1990s performance cars, the 1994 FD RX-7 combined lightweight engineering, futuristic styling, and Mazda's legendary rotary engine into a machine that still commands attention decades later. Meticulously maintained and tastefully modified Mazda RX-7 FD3S producing 330whp and 300wtq on the factory sequential twin turbo setup. The stock-port 13B-REW was professionally rebuilt at 100k miles using Atkins 2-piece apex seals, Atkins corner seals, Mazda side seals and oil control rings, factory Mazda springs, and Viton seals, with all housings and components properly refinished, clearanced, and re-lapped during assembly. Supporting modifications include simplified silicone vacuum lines, an ACT HD clutch, B&M short shifter, Greddy V-mount intercooler/radiator setup, Greddy 3-inch exhaust, passenger-side battery relocation with an Antigravity lithium battery, and a Stinger 150a breaker/kill switch. Suspension was comprehensively refreshed at 104k miles with SakeBomb Garage FP-spec Öhlins DFV coilovers (9k front/7k rear), SuperPro polyurethane bushings, J-Auto spherical bushings, offset trailing arms, adjustable toe links, and adjustable sway bar end links. All OEM suspension and brake hardware was stripped and yellow zinc plated, while control arms, brake dust shields, and spindles were powder coated black. Brake calipers were fully rebuilt and powder coated with new seals, paired with StopTech rotors and sport pads. The car sits on refinished Volk Racing RE30 wheels (18x10 +39) powder coated in Porsche Silver and wrapped in Yokohama Advan A052 265/35R18 tires. Interior upgrades include a Daikei boss hub, dual shallow quick releases, two Momo Monte Carlo 350mm steering wheels (suede and leather), Morel Tempo Ultra Integra speakers, and a Rockford Fosgate Power Series T400-4 amplifier mounted in the spare tire location. Included with the sale are several brand-new high-end parts for a future single turbo conversion, including a BorgWarner EFR 8370 aluminum supercore turbocharger with .92 T4 divided exhaust housing, Turblown IWG investment-cast turbo kit with plumbing and 3-inch downpipe, Radium Engineering primary and secondary fuel rails, and Injector Dynamics ID1050XDS primary injectors. At the heart of the 1994 RX-7 sits the 13B-REW, a 1.3-liter twin-rotor rotary engine paired with a sequential twin-turbocharger. One of the RX-7's defining traits was its sequential twin-turbo setup. A smaller turbocharger operated at lower RPMs for quick response, while a larger secondary turbo activated higher in the rev range for stronger top-end power. The FD chassis became famous for its balance and handling. Weighing roughly 2,800 pounds, the RX-7 offered near 50/50 weight distribution, rear-wheel drive, and razor-sharp steering response. Enthusiasts praised the car for feeling agile and connected, especially compared to heavier rivals like the Toyota Supra or Nissan 300ZX of the same era. Stock twins 330whp 300wtq rebuilt at 100k miles all factory springs, Vinton seals, Atkins 2 piece apex seals, Mazda side seals and oil ringsFP Spec Ohlins coilovers, total suspension, brake, intercooler overhaul. Visually, the FD RX-7 remains timeless. Its flowing body lines, wide stance, rounded fenders, and pop-up headlights gave it a sleek, almost exotic appearance. Designed under Mazda stylist Tom Matano, the car looked dramatically different from the angular sports cars of the late 1980s and quickly became a symbol of Japanese performance culture. The RX-7 also built a reputation for being both beloved and demanding. Rotary engines require specialized maintenance and careful tuning, and the FD became known for issues related to heat management, vacuum lines, and apex seal wear when neglected. However, owners and enthusiasts often argue t
