2018 RAM 1500 Sport

The 2018 Ram 1500 Sport combines a powerful V8 engine, advanced suspension, and premium interior features for a performance-oriented full-size pickup.
Engine and Performance

The 2018 Ram 1500 Sport comes standard with a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine producing 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. A 3.6L Pentastar V6 with 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque is also available, using an 8-speed automatic, while a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 offers 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque for improved fuel efficiency and towing capability. The Sport trim is available in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations.


Suspension and Handling
The Sport features a coil-spring rear suspension for improved ride comfort and handling compared to traditional leaf springs. The front suspension uses upper and lower A-arms with coil springs and twin-tube shock absorbers, with an optional air suspension for enhanced load leveling and ride quality. A stabilizer bar is included for both front and rear setups.


Towing and Payload
When properly equipped, the 2018 Ram 1500 Sport can tow up to 10,620 lb with the factory-installed Class IV hitch and has a payload capacity that varies depending on configuration, typically around 1,500–1,800 lb. Trailer sway control and tow/haul mode are standard features to enhance towing safety.


Exterior and Wheels
The Sport trim includes 20-inch wheels, projector headlights, and LED interior lighting. Exterior styling is more aggressive than lower trims, with body-color accents and a sport-oriented grille.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Sport offers a 10-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 115-volt power outlet. Additional features include auto-dimming driver’s side mirror, rotary gear shift, and premium interior lighting.
