Seller's Notes

1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this beautiful 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, finished in a stunning white exterior over a classic red interior with a white convertible soft top. This C1 Corvette captures one of the most iconic looks in American sports car history - clean white paint, bright chrome, red cockpit, open-air styling, and the unmistakable late first-generation Corvette body lines. Power comes from a rebuilt 283ci V8 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine features an Edelbrock carburetor while otherwise maintaining a mostly stock-style appearance and character. This Corvette has also been upgraded with a Vintage Air conditioning system, making it much more enjoyable for warm-weather cruising while still preserving the vintage feel that makes these cars so special. This example has been through an extensive restoration, and receipts documenting the work are included with the car. Exterior The white exterior gives this Corvette a clean, elegant, and timeless look. The 1961 model year is especially desirable because it represents the final evolution of the first-generation Corvette body style before the arrival of the Sting Ray in 1963. The car features the classic exposed quad headlights, beautiful front chrome, side coves, sculpted fenders, and the updated rear styling that would influence the next generation of Corvette design. The paint presents beautifully, and close inspection of the body, glass, trim, chrome, and overall finish shows the care this car has received. The white convertible top pairs perfectly with the exterior and gives the car a classy, period-correct appearance when raised. Wheels & Stance This Corvette sits on polished 5-spoke American Racing-style wheels wrapped in 225/45R18 radial tires. The upgraded wheel and tire package gives the car a more confident stance without taking away from its classic character. The polished wheels work extremely well against the white paint and chrome trim, giving the car a clean but slightly more modern road presence. Interior The red interior is exactly what you want to see in a C1 Corvette. The color combination is striking, classic, and instantly recognizable. The cabin features red bucket seats, red door panels, red carpet, a red dash, factory-style gauges, a Corvette steering wheel, and a floor-mounted 4-speed shifter. The interior presents very well throughout and maintains the proper vintage Corvette feel. The addition of Vintage Air conditioning is a major drivability upgrade, especially for anyone who wants to actually enjoy the car during the summer months. Engine & Drivetrain Under the hood is a rebuilt 283ci V8 engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine bay has a clean, traditional presentation with Chevrolet-script valve covers, a chrome air cleaner, and an Edelbrock carburetor. The car retains the charm and feel of a classic small-block Corvette while offering reliable drivability. The 4-speed manual transmission gives the car the engaging driving experience these early Corvettes are known for. This is not just a car to look at - it is a car to drive, enjoy, and show. Undercarriage The underside shows the classic early Corvette chassis layout, dual exhaust system, manual transmission, and fiberglass floor structure. The undercarriage presents as a restored driver-quality example, making this Corvette well-suited for someone who wants a car that can be enjoyed without being afraid to use it. The Drive This 1961 Corvette delivers the kind of driving experience that made the C1 legendary. The rebuilt 283ci V8 has the right small-block character, the 4-speed manual keeps the driver connected, and the open cockpit makes every drive feel special. With Vintage Air conditioning, this car is even more usable as a summer cruiser, weekend show car, or local event standout. The car feels classic, mechanical, and authenti
