85,822 miles
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Hardtop Regular Production Option, (RPO), is a three digit standardized code used by General Motors to designate vehicle options and modifications. Very few of these codes end up in the actual name of a car, but there are some exceptions and Z28 is the most notable, indicating Special Performance Package. Corvette's Z06 is another RPO that's become part of the common name of the performance version, and L78, slightly more obscure, represents a particular big block. Z71 on the side of a modern Chevrolet truck is an RPO and translates to Truck Sports Package. For consignment, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 showing 85,823 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption. The consignor stated 302ci V8 in this car was recently refreshed according to our consignor and the rebuild paperwork will accompany the car to the next lucky owner.   Exterior There are very few flaws to find in the two stage Cortez Silver paint that covers this car. Painted black stripes travel from the nose and over the cowl hood, interrupted by the roof, then reemerging on the trunk lid and over the spoiler. The chrome bumpers as well as the door handles, window trim, and side mirror are in fantastic condition while additional metal includes wheel opening and rocker trim, also nice. 1969 saw the introduction of the quarter panel decorative vents and they stand out against the silver paint while 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels continue the consistently good metal on the car and are wrapped in staggered size tires with a mid 2025 date code. Imperfections include minor inclusions in the paint, peeling paint on the rocker below the trim, several clear runs, scratch and chip on the rear fender, slight separation of wheel arch trim and body and a few dings to the trim, and scratches to plating of rear bumper.  Interior Both door panels in black plastic and vinyl and tight and clean, as are the high backed bucket seats for the driver and front passenger and the back bench. Circle gauges and a clock are situated in square housing while a simulated wood strip underlines the gauge cluster. An AM/FM/CD player is to the right of the column which is capped by a three spoke steering wheel. The AC branded gauges include a 120mph speedometer and tachometer, augmented by the quad gauge package in the center console just ahead of the woodgrain trim on the shifter housing where we find a white knobbed Hurst shifter and the shift pattern plaque all in clean condition. Low pile black looped carpet covers the floor and our stitched headliner shows areas of looseness but is fully intact. The trunk is shrouded by a green plaid vinyl period mat showing some light usage and houses a spare and jack.  Drivetrain Here we have a consignor stated 302ci V8 with a Holley 4-barrel, rated at 290 horsepower and mated to a date correct Muncie M21 four speed manual transmission. Power is routed to a 12 bolt rear axle with a consignor stated 3.73 gear ratio and Positraction. The bay presents cleanly and indicates power steering and power brakes onboard. Undercarriage From the gleaming gas tank forward, the underside presents as fresh with only some road spray detracting from near perfection. The dual exhaust hit an H-pipe, then FlowMaster mufflers, then exit through straight pipes. Power brakes are equipped as front disc and rear drum, and suspension is standard coil springs up front and leaf springs in back. Drive-Ability If it looks this good, we're not expecting any surprises and in true form, the Z delivers on all fronts with a great exhaust note, good power, and straight tracking. The only thing not working is the horn as all other functions work properly. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. We've said it before, don't rest on your laurels if an X77 '69 Z28 is on your
